ON = Ordinal Number

fourth
fifth
sixth
seventh

eighth
ninth
tenth
eleventh
twelfth
thirteenth
fourteenth
fifteenth
sixteenth
seventeenth
eighteenth
nineteenth
twentieth

Avoid using the before the noun instead of before the ordinal number.

Avoid using a cardinal instead of an ordinal number.

CN = Cardinal Number

EXAMPLE 1:

Incorrect:

She started writing the eight chapter of her new novel.

Correct:

She started writing the eighth chapter of her new novel.

EXAMPLE 2:

Incorrect:

Flight 707 for Buenos Aires is now ready for boarding at the concourse seven.

Correct:

Flight 707 for Buenos Aires is now ready for boarding at concourse seven.
