Since March 2013 the CPE has four sections as
the "Reading" and "Use of English" papers have been merged into
one unit. We will analyse here those two papers. The
last two sections will be analysed in Unit 2 - Lesson 8. |
CPE "READING AND USE OF ENGLISH" TEST |
There are 53 questions in the CPE "Reading and
Use of English" Test. It
makes up 40% of the entire exam. This test has seven sections (or "parts") and takes
90 minutes: |

1) To prepare for the "Reading" part
read widely and as much as possible. Use a dictionary to help you learn
new words; |
2) To prepare for the "Use of
English" part use
our website to help you understand sentence structure and get into the
habit of checking the spelling of words. |

CPE "LISTENING" TEST |
There are 30 questions in the CPE "Listening" Test. It
makes up 20% of the entire exam. This test has four sections and takes
about 40 minutes: |
