Watching and participating in sports is one of the major things we have in common, Alex. However, your appreciating what I call “blood sports” is something I just can’t relate to.

ALEX:

Disagreeing about that is a never-ending argument, Jack. Maybe we should just concentrate on the things we have in common.

JACK:

Arguing can be productive. I’d like to try and understand what attracts you, even if I can’t really appreciate it myself.

ALEX:

Boxing, fox hunting and bullfighting give me a thrill that normal team sports can’t provide. Bullfighting is more an art than a sport.

JACK:

An art! Agreeing with that idea is out of the question.
