MIKE:

Jerry, when you were at College, who was your political hero?

JERRY:

I graduated in 1963, I was middle-of-the-road and all American, so who do you think it was?

MIKE:

It must have been JFK. And I suppose the villains were Castro and Kruschov.

JERRY:

You've guessed it. The Cuban missile crisis and Kennedy's assassination only served to confirm my views. How about you?

MIKE:

My family are either apolitical or radical non-conformists. Non-conformism suits me permanent dissent.

JERRY:

Well, if you had asked me about my views in the late sixties... 1968 was a watershed for so many reasons.
