Este es un tema que intimida a muchos estudiantes hispano-hablantes. En esta primera parte analizaremos 5 combinaciones de preposiciones.

ABOUT
Utiliza los siguientes adjetivos seguidos de about. Cada grupo de adjetivos tiene un significado similar o muy relacionado. Con estas expresiones debes usar el verbo 'to be'.
angry / annoyed / furious about something
I'm really furious about operating at a loss.
Estoy totalmente furioso trabajando a pérdida.
excited about something
Ana is excited about her wedding party next week.
Ana está emocionada por su fiesta de boda la semana próxima.
worried / upset about something
Some students are worried about their upcoming exams.
Algunos estudiantes están preocupados por sus próximos exámenes.
sorry about something
I'm very sorry about damaging your car.
Estoy muy apenado por haber dañado tu automóvil.

AT
Utiliza los siguientes adjetivos seguidos de at. Cada grupo de adjetivos tiene un significado similar o muy relacionado. Con estas expresiones debes usar el verbo 'to be'.
good / excellent / brilliant at something OR at doing something
They are excellent at planning birthday parties.
Ellos son excelentes para preparar fiestas de cumpleaños.
bad / hopeless at something OR at doing something
Unfortunately, Fernando is hopeless at being on time.
Lamentablemente, Fernando es incurable para llegar en hora.

 
 

AT / BY
Utiliza los siguientes adjetivos seguidos de at o by. Cada grupo de adjetivos tiene un significado similar o muy relacionado. Con estas expresiones debes usar el verbo 'to be'.
amazed / astonished / shocked / surprised at OR by something
I was amazed at Rock's energy during the baseball game.
Me sorprendió la fortaleza de Rock durante el partido de béisbol.

FOR
Utiliza los siguientes adjetivos seguidos de for. Cada grupo de adjetivos tiene un significado similar o muy relacionado. Con estas expresiones debes usar el verbo 'to be'.
angry with someone for something
I'm really angry with Maria for her incompetence.
Estoy francamente enojado con María por su ineptitud.
famous for something
Paulo Bearly is famous for his oil paintings.
Paulo Bearly es famoso por sus pinturas al óleo.
responsible for something
Sheila is responsible for grammar explanations in our courses.
Sheila es la responsable de las explicaciones gramaticales de nuestros cursos.
sorry for doing something
I'm really sorry for shouting at you.
Siento mucho haberte gritado.
(to feel or be) sorry for someone
I really feel sorry for Diana's family troubles.
Siento verdadera pena por los problemas familiares de Diana.
