pares de palabras: cold
y cool, hot y warm. Cold indica una
temperatura más baja que
cool y muchas veces desagradable: El nuestro fue un otoño muy
frío. Ours was a terribly cold autumn. Cool significa
fresco más que frío: En la calle está caluroso, pero aquí dentro
está fresco.
It's hot on the road, but it's cool in here. Hot describe
una temperatura bastante más elevada que warm.
Warm es más bien cálido, templado, generalmente
sugiere agradables sensaciones. Veamos estos ejemplos: No puedo beber
