EXERCISE A

Turn these sentences into the active voice.
Where no agent is mentioned one must be supplied.

 

1.  The referee was being escorted from the football field by a policeman.

2.  The runways are being lengthened at all the main airports.

 

3.  Yesterday morning the damaged cruiseship was being towed into harbour.

 

4.  Evening dress will be worn at the graduation ceremony.

5.  After Priscilla's death someone will have to be hired to take her place.
