Simple Present and Present Progressive

 

EXERCISE A

Put the verbs in brackets into the simple present or the present progressive.

 

1.  My brother usually (drink) tea but this morning he (drink) coffee.

 

2.  My sister (make) a dress for herself now. She always (make) all her clothes.

 

3.  A: Who (sing)? B: It's Mrs. Brown. She (feel) happy today.

 

4.  A: You (email) her tonight? B: Yes, I always (email) Ann on her birthday.

 

5.  They usually (learn) English quickly but they (not seem) able to learn phrasals.

 

 
 

EXERCISE B

Put the verbs in brackets into the simple present or the present progressive.

 

1.  Paul never (pay) attention to what you say. He always (think) about anything.

 

2.  The airbus that you (look) at now, just (leave) for Buenos Aires.

 

3.  My nephew Ralph (save) money. He (go) to Europe in May.

 

4.  A: Who owns this tablet? B: Everybody (use) it but nobody knows the owner.

 

5.  A: What you (wait) for? B: I (wait) for the train to arrive.
