WRITING:
PARTS 1 AND 2 |
In Part 1 you have to write an
essay with a discursive focus in about 240-280 words. In Part
2 you will have a contextualised writing task which should be
280-320 words long. |
INSTRUCTIONS |
Look at the instructions carefully. They will tell you: |
- |
What you must read before you start to write. |
- |
Who you should write to (for example,
the director of a company, a newspaper editor or some other stranger). |
|
|
BEFORE YOU WRITE |
This is our advice: |
- |
Follow the instructions exactly. |
- |
Organise your ideas carefully. |
- |
Use a rather formal
register as it is an
academic essay. |
- |
Always include your own point
of view on the subject. |
|
AFTER YOU WRITE |
Check that your essay ... |
- |
has followed the instructions exactly. |
- |
begins and ends in a suitable way. |
- |
uses correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. |
