Message from the
Director |
|
|
Dear student, |
Although
this unit concludes the course, remember that your learning of English
does not have to stop here. One of the fascinating things about a
language – whether one's own or a foreign language – is that one never
reaches the end of learning it. There are always new things to
discover. |
We hope that this course has been useful to you in your learning of
English, and also that your interest in the language will continue – either because you are using English in your work or your studies, or
simply because you take pleasure in knowing the language. |
All the best, |
Prof. Orlando Moure, Director
OM PERSONAL ENGLISH
Buenos Aires, Argentina. |
|
|
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have finished
UNIT 10 - LESSONS 37
TO 40 at OM Personal
CAE – Certificate in Advanced English.
Before requesting your FINAL EXAM,
please remember to revise everything
you have learnt all along this
course. |
|
|
|
Last but not least,
read now what we call the five "good candidate
techniques"... |
GOOD CANDIDATE
TECHNIQUES |
1. |
Greet, and say goodbye to the two
examiners politely. Be friendly, relaxed and positive. |
2. |
Be as communicative as you can.
Don't be afraid to introduce ideas and ask questions where
appropriate. Make the task of getting language, reactions and ideas
out of you as easy as possible. |
3. |
Use as wide a range of correct language
as you can to show what you can do well. Don't worry too much
about making mistakes! |
4. |
Cooperate with the other candidate.
Don't try to dominate her or him: good communication is helped by
a cooperative attitude and harmed by competition. |
5. |
Whether you take Paper 5 with someone you know or
someone you don't know will depend on practical realities at your
exam centre. If you know the other candidate, the advantage is that
you will probably feel more relaxed. If you don't know the other
candidate, the advantage is that there will be more to find out
about each other. Either way, OM Personal English wishes all the
best! |
