Virgin is a leading international company based in London,
England. It was founded in 1970 by Richard Branson, the present
Chairman. The group has three main divisions which operate
independently. These divisions specialise in music retailing and
entertainment, communications and travel. Virgin operates in 15
different countries, including the United States, the United
Kingdom, Continental Europe, Australia and Japan. Its sales in 1991
were £1100 million. It employs over 6,000
