BULLFIGHTING (Part 3) |
Jack and
Alex keep on discussing about bullfighting and "blood sports".
Jack insists that it is the
killing of the bull what really turns him off about
bullfighting. |
Trying to
convince Jack, Alex says that if bulls were not killed in bullfights,
they would be killed for other purposes, or never be bred at all. |
Jack
agrees that putting
it like that makes him begin to see things in a different light.
But he insists that seeing the death of the bull and the blood would be too much for
him. |
Alex
replies that Jack's
feelings are valid for him because he just see it differently. To Alex,
watching a
bullfight makes him feel like he is experiencing a dramatization of some of
life’s greatest emotions. |
Jack says
that coming
to a real conclusion to that argument is probably impossible, but
accepts that Alex has
made him see his point of view. Finally, Alex says he will settle for
that. |
JACK: |
The
killing of the bull is the thing that really turns me off about
bullfighting. |
ALEX: |
If they
weren’t killed in bullfights, they’d be killed for other purposes, or
never be bred at all, Jack. |
JACK: |
Putting
it like that makes me begin to see things in a different light, Alex.
But seeing the death of the bull and the blood would be too much for me. |
ALEX: |
Your
feelings are valid for you; I just see it differently. Watching a
bullfight makes me feel like I’m experiencing a dramatization of some of
life’s greatest emotions. |
JACK: |
Coming
to a real conclusion to this argument is probably impossible, but you’ve
made me see your point of view. |
ALEX: |
I’ll
settle for that. |
