BULLFIGHTING (Part 2) |
Jack and
Alex are discussing about bullfighting and it's clear that Jacks
dislikes "blood sports". He says that bullfighting can’t be considered
an art. |
Alex asks
him to relax and explains that it is difficult for non-Spaniards to
understand the fascination of bullfighting. He insists that giving the
idea a chance wouldn’t hurt Jack. |
Jack
replies that it won’t be easy to convince him, but he's willing to
listen to what Alex has got to say. Alex explains that
bullfighting involves the celebration of the eternal drama of life and
death and the dramatizing courage in the face of danger.
|
Once
again Jack expresses that drawing blood and taking life are high price
to pay for that. And when Alex asks him if he has seen a bullfight
before, Jack answers he hasn't, but he still has a right to have an
opinion. |
JACK: |
Bullfighting can’t be considered an art; it’s only a sport, and a
“blood sport” at that. |
ALEX: |
Take it
easy, Jack. Understanding the fascination of bullfighting is difficult
for non-Spaniards, but giving the idea a chance wouldn’t hurt you. |
JACK: |
Convincing me won’t be easy, but I’m willing to listen to what you’ve
got to say, Alex. |
ALEX: |
Celebrating the eternal drama of life and death and dramatizing
courage in the face of danger are part of what it’s all about. |
JACK: |
Drawing
blood and taking life are high price to pay for that, if you ask me. |
ALEX: |
You’ve
never seen a bullfight, have you, Jack? |
JACK: |
No, but
having an opinion is still my right. |
