A TYPICAL DAY |
Mike and
Gerald are in the office. They are talking about Gerald's former job. |
Mike asks
Gerald whether he would work on a factory fishing boat again. Although
the money was excellent, Gerald hopes he never has to work there again
because
the work is monotonous and exhausting. |
Mike
wants to know what a typical day was on the factory and Gerald replies
they worked 12-hour shifts. He adds that neither
alcohol nor gambling were allowed and that he
used to read a lot. |
When Mike
asks him what exactly he did, Gerald comments that the most tiring
jobs were the deck jobs and the most boring in the packing area. |
Mike asks
Gerald why he had quit his job. Geralds says he had to do it because
he had injured his back while he was working on the machinery to haul
in the catch. That's why Mike finally recommends Gerald to avoid
putting strain on his back in the future. |
