HOW TO FORM NOUNS

Here are some techniques that you can use used to form nouns from verbs or other words:

1) MAKE NO CHANGE

to plan
to scream

   a plan
   a scream

2) KEEP THE SAME SPELLING
Please, remember that these words usually change the word stress.

to trans'port
to re
'cord

   a 'transport
   a 'record

3) ADD A SUFFIX
It is important to point out that the suffixes –er, –ee, –ist and –or usually indicate that the noun is a person.

to arrange
to educate
to approve
to drive
to teach
to train
to type
to act

  an arrangement
   an education
  an approval
  a driver
  a teacher
   a trainee
  a typist
   an actor

4) MAKE ANOTHER KIND OF SPELLING CHANGE

to fly
to receive

   a flight
   a receipt
