"IT" + "WHEN" CLAUSES

 

 
 

 
 
 
 

ACERCA DE "IT" Y LAS CLAUSULAS ADVERBIALES CON "WHEN".

Esta gramática apunta a que practiques varias estructuras conversacionales formadas por el pronombre objetivo neutro IT (ello) seguido de cláusulas adverbiales que comienzan con WHEN.(cuando).

Básicamente al pronombre IT pueden precederle o seguirle diferentes verbos o frases que expresan emociones: like (gustar); bother (molestar); upset (disgustar); embarrass (incomodar); can't stand (no soportar);  don't mind (no importar); etc. Observa:

"IT" CLAUSE  ►  "WHEN" CLAUSE

I love it when I get phone calls on my birthday.
Me encanta cuando recibo llamadas telefónicas para mi cumpleaños.

It upsets me when Chris chews gum while she's talking.
Me disgusta cuando Chris come goma de mascar mientras habla.

I can't stand it when he corrects me in front of others.
No soporto cuando él me corrige delante de otras personas.

"IT" + "WHEN" CLAUSES

 

 

I like it  ►  when people are direct.

Me agrada cuando la gente es directa (no anda con vueltas) conmigo.

I don't mind it  ►  when people are straightforward with me.

No me importa cuando la gente es franca conmigo.

I can't stand it  ►  when people aren't honest with me.

No lo soporto cuando la gente no es honesta conmigo.

It bothers me  ►  when people aren't reliable.

Me molesta (preocupa) cuando la gente no es confiable.

It really upsets me  ►  when people arrive late for appointments.

Realmente me disgusta cuando la gente llega tarde a las citas.

Activity 35: Basándote en la gramática de la página anterior selecciona de cada menú la alternativa más adecuada para completar estas oraciones. Verifica luego las respuestas correctas.
